The Southwest Chapter ASSP’s 2022 PDC Keynote Speaker is Ricky Rollins, who will be presenting "The Day We Will Remember.”

26 years ago, Ricky experienced a workplace accident that nearly took his life. In his keynote presentation, Ricky explores how this near-death experience in the workplace affected not only his own family, but also his coworkers, supervisors, and everyone around him. Ricky’s unique, multi-perspective reflection on this pivotal moment in his life and how it relates to the audience and the safety profession as a whole is guaranteed to be a memorable experience for our attendees.

Ricky Rollins graduated from Clemson University 1980 with a B.S. in Administrative Management. He started his career in the steel industry with Nucor Steel in 1980, holding various hourly and salary job with Nucor and two refractory companies during his first 14 years. Ricky then transitioned to Steel Dynamics Butler Flat Roll Division where he spent 19 years as the Melting Department Manager. In January 2017, Ricky retired from the steel industry and started his own company, Ricky Rollins Safety Speeches, where he has been recognized by the National Safety Council as a 2019 Congress & Expo Top Five Speaker and served as the National Safety Council’s 2020 Congress & Expo Keynote Speaker.
